The competition is starting to hot up after celebrities taking part in Strictly by Brackley 2012 were teamed up with their partners during the third practise session this week.

Dancer Tizzy Jones said Andrzej Mialkowski, founder of the Step by Step Dance School which runs the competition, selected partners for the competition during the Tuesday night practice session.

Mrs Jones said: “He hasn’t just been teaching the routines, he’s been asking them to swap and change with one another and watches carefully at the interaction between couples. He’s looking for their strengths and weaknesses, and if there’s a connection. If you don’t get on with a person it could ruin the whole experience.

“You have to be able to enjoy yourself as well as learning the dances. As it turns out everyone feels they are with the person they think they should have been partnered with.”

After six weeks intensive training celebrities will perform a ballroom and latin routine during the two public finals starting Saturday, September 1. But new for this year couples will also take part in a team dance.

This year dancers’ sponsorship will go towards repairs and maintenance of St John’s Chapel at Magdalen College School.

Tickets to final at Waynflete School cost £15 and are available from Mrs Jones on 07986 837119 or Sally Andrew on 07980 945739.
