Uncertainty remains for two hospices in Northants following plans to cut £2 million in funding from NHS Corby and Nene Clinical Commissioning groups.
Cransley Hospice in Kettering and Cynthia Spencer Hospice in Northampton may have to rely on more charitable donations if the cuts go ahead.
Councillor John McGhee, the leader of the Labour group on Northants County Council, said: “I still have major concerns regarding the future of hospice services across our county. It would seem from the clinical commissioning group’s latest statement that once again the hard-working people of Northamptonshire are being left to pick up the tab after cutbacks.”
A campaign has been set up on Facebook to save the hospices. It can be found at www.facebook.com/ketteringcommunity?fref=ts or www.facebook.com/pages/Save-the-Cynthia-Spencer-Hospice/227952784018830?fref=ts.
