POLICE are appealing for information after a 90-year-old woman was robbed in a distraction burglary in Nash.

Sometime between 11.30am and 12.30pm on Wednesday, June 15, a man posing as an electricity company representative knocked at houses in Stratford Road claiming the owners had been overcharged.

In one of the houses he stole cash from the elderly resident. She was not injured.

Det Con Stephanie Macleod said: “I would like for anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the area to come forward.

“This man has had no regard about taking money from an elderly woman and I would like to remind residents to be cautious when opening the door when you are not expecting visitors.”

Anyone with any information about this incident should contact Det Con Macleod at Aylesbury CID via the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number, 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police or give your name, you can call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
