Bloxham man fatally struck by reversing van near Bicester named by police

A man from Bloxham who sadly died after being hit by a van in Middle Aston near Bicester has been formally identified.

Geoffrey Malcolm Smith, who was 59, was walking towards a black Fiat Punto that had gone off the A4260, Oxford Road and overturned, at around 8am on Wednesday, December 30.

He was struck by a reversing Ford Transit Tipper van and died from his injuries.

The driver of the Ford Transit Tipper van, a 55-year-old man from Bicester, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released on police bail until March 30.
