A dad says his children are ‘devastated and mortified’ after dognappers stole their puppy.

French bulldog Margot was snatched this morning after a man jumped into dad Steve Filler’s front garden and was then seen fleeing with two other men in a car.

He said: “Margot was like a family member so we are all upset.

“My children are devastated and mortified.”

The puppy, who is just under a year old, cost Mr Filler £1,500.

He said: “We bought Margot when she was about eight or nine weeks old to keep our other bulldog Baxter, who is three, company.

Mr Filler, who lives with his partner Jane Pallister and their three children Louis, 13, Sylvie, 10 and Flinn, 7, in Main Street, Mursley, said they were particularly concerned about Margot because she has a medical condition.

He said: “Margot has a spinal problem which means she needs daily anti-inflammatory medication.

“We are really careful with her so she does minimal exercise because things are a real struggle for her.

“You hear about these sort of incidents but you don’t really believe it until it happens so we are all in shock at the moment.”

Police say the gang of men walked up to the front garden fence of the family’s home at around 10.30am this morning (Wednesday) and attempted to coerce the dog to them.

One of the group then jumped over the fence and picked up the dog.

The gang then walked off to a nearby parked car, a grey estate with a W registration number, and left the scene.

They are all white and in their thirties.

Margot is described as brindle in colour, micro-chipped and was wearing a brown leather collar and tag.

Anyone with information about this incident should contact PCSO Nathan Howson, of Buckingham police station, via the 24-hour police number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
