A 11-year-old girl was one of 66 people who reported a case of ‘revenge porn’ to Northamptonshire Police during a six-month period, new figures show.

Data released by Northamptonshire Police shows officers investigated dozens of cases of indecent photographs and videos being posted online by ex-partners.

The figures, which cover a period from October 2014 to April 2015, show 33 females and 30 men informed the force they had been the victim of ‘revenge porn’. Three of the cases involve an ‘unknown’ gender.

The age range of the victims stretches from an 11-year-old girl to a 67-year-old female.

There were four other cases involving children aged under 16, including teenage girls aged 12,13,14 and 15 who contacted police after indecent images were posted online.

The relationship between the victim and offender was recorded in a number of the cases, with the ex-partner being the suspect in 27 cases, ex-boyfriend in 11 of the cases, current partner in one case and husband in one case.

A total of 24 cases involved a video that had been posted online, while the other 42 cases involved images.

The outcome of the reported crimes results in one person being charged, one community resolution and one caution.

A total of 18 of the investigations were concluded with no action due to the withdrawal of support by the victim.
