Two gold rings were stolen from an elderly man in a distraction burglary in Mill Lane, Upper Heyford, on Wednesday, March 26.

At 11.25am the elderly victim was approached by a man who said there was a problem with his roof and led him into the back garden to look at it.

Another man then entered and searched the house.

Both men left the property when the victim’s daughter arrived.

One ring is a gold band inset with rubies all the way around and the other is a plain gold band.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information, or who has been offered these items for sale, should contact investigator Mark Doran at Banbury Police Station via the police enquiry centre on 101.

If you don’t want to speak directly to the police, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at Crimestoppers-uk.org
