Police have increased patrols after a spate thefts of lead from houses last week.

Three homes in Brackley were targeted by thieves last Wednesday night. Investigators discovered a wheelie bin filled with lead, which, although found some distance away, is being linked to the crimes.

In addition to the lead thefts, batteries and other metals have been taken from the development sites on Radstone Road and Turweston Road. Security has now been tightened at these locations as well as increased police foot patrols. Police believe the added security measures may have pushed the criminals into the towns to target homeowners there.

Anyone with any information to contact Northants Police on 101 or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
