A man has been stabbed in the shoulder while walking down an alleyway.

The 21-year-old was walking down the alleyway off Blake Road, Bicester, towards the Co-op in Bure Park at around 7.20pm on Friday.

Two men walked towards the victim and, as they passed him, one of them stabbed him.

The victim did not see a weapon and no weapon has been recovered.

He received stitches at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and has since been released.

Police are now stepping up patrols in the area following what they describe as an ‘isolated incident.’

Det Con Paddy O’Grady said: “These kinds of incidents are very rare in Bicester and we are carrying out patrols in the area to reassure the public.

“We would like to speak to anyone who may have information about the assault or who was in the area at the time and saw those involved.”

Anyone with information about the incident should contact police on the 101 number.

Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
