BICESTER: Police have issued fresh warning over a recent rash of number plate thefts in Bicester and Banbury.

Since March, 43 vehicles in Bicester and Kidlington have had plates stolen, with a further 53 thefts in the Banbury area.

Stolen plates are often used by criminals to steal fuel from filling stations.

Police advise drivers to secure number plates with tamper-proof screws, which are widely available from motoring retailers.
