A FORMER Bletchingdon doctor who was accused of sexually assaulting eight female patients has been cleared of all charges.

Dr Yenugula Srinivas, 42, who lived in Heathfield near Bletchingdon when he was arrested in 2009, was charged with carrying out intimate examinations for his own gratification while working as a locum GP at surgeries in Islip and Oxford.

Jurors found Dr Srinivas not guilty of nine of 11 charges yesterday, and he was discharged of the remaining two after the Crown offered no evidence.

The month-long trial at Oxford Crown Court followed an earlier trial in March, where jurors had found Dr Srinivas not guilty of seven of 18 charges of sexual assault, but had been unable to reach a verdict on the remaining 11 charges.

Reporting restrictions prevented the media revealing the outcome of the previous trial until now.
