A YOUNG woman fought off an attacker armed with a hammer in Buckingham in the small hours of Bank Holiday Sunday.

A BRAVE young woman fought off an attacker armed with a hammer in Buckingham in the small hours of Bank Holiday Sunday.

Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses after the 19-year-old student was attacked at Buckingham University on Sunday, August 28.

The teenager was followed into the refectory at about 1.30am, after using her fob to enter the building.

Once inside, the man grabbed her from behind and forced her to the floor before threatening her with a hammer and attempting to rob her.
