The newly elected Police And Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Thames Valley, Anthony Stansfeld, has now appointed his deputy.
David Carroll, who lives in Great Kingshill, near High Wycombe, took up his role as the new Deputy PCC on Friday.
A confirmation hearing for the appointment took place at the Police and Crime Panel meeting on Thursday.
Mr Carroll is a councillor on both Bucks County Council and Wycombe District Council, and a former member of the Thames Valley Police Authority.
Mr Stansfeld said: “I am delighted that the panel has recommended the appointment of David Carroll as my deputy and I look forward to working with him.
“Mr Carroll has experience and knowledge of Bucks, as well as an understanding of policing, and will help me ensure that I do the best job possible during my time in office.
“I felt with my headquarters in Oxon and my experience of Berks it was important I appointed someone with specific knowledge of Bucks to ensure I effectively represent the whole of Thames Valley.”
Mr Carroll said: “I am honoured to have been offered this position and be able to support Mr Stansfeld in ensuring that all of the communities of Thames Valley have their policing and crime needs met.”
