Cuddly toys and floral tributes have been left outside a Bicester home where the body of a two-year-old girl was discovered by police yesterday, Thursday.
One note read: “To a beautiful girl with big pretty eyes. Another little angel.”
An international search is now on for the girl’s mother, who police believe has left the country.
Police investigators have been at the house in Herald Way in Glory Farm since the girl’s body was found by police yesterday morning.
The alarm had been raised by concerned family member.
A neighbour said the woman is believed to be a nurse from Trinidad, who lived alone with her daughter, and had recently moved back into the house after renting it out to other people.
She had not been seen for some time, the neighbour added.
It is thought the missing woman may have a former partner living in Lincoln.
“We never saw much movement from that house, never saw her around,” the neighbour said.
A post-mortem examination was carried out last night, and police are due to release another update on the case this afternoon.
