A woman was punched in the stomach and had her handbag stolen by two teen robbers in Bicester on Friday.

At just after 9pm, the 45-year-old woman was walking through the alleyway between Lancaster Close and Hendon Place when two boys rode past on bicycles.

One boy punched her in the stomach and grabbed the handbag before both rode off with the bag and its contents.

Both were white boys, around 16 years old, and of medium build. They were wearing fingerless gloves.

Det Con Ian Bailey, from Banbury Police Station, said: “This was a cowardly and unprovoked attack. Police are appealing for witnesses to the offence or for anyone with information, to come forward.”

Anyone with information should contact DC Bailey via the Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.
