The Bicester and Finmere Show committee has announced it is donating £5,000 to charity from the proceeds of this year’s show, with £2,500 going to the Back Up Trust and £2,500 to Spinal Research.

All profits from the show go to chosen charities every year.

A spokesman said: “It is an amazing feat that despite the bad weather in 2014 we are able to donate so much money to charity.

“Due to the wind and rain, the numbers of visitors were significantly down from previous years.

“However, the showjumping, showing and dog show competitions were very well attended.”
