A man racing at Silverstone Circuit was airlifted to hospital after the car he was driving rolled over several times.
Warks and Northants Air Ambulance took the man to University Hospitals Coventry and Warks for treatment to head, pelvic and abdominal injuries at 4pm on Saturday.
The patient was unconscious on the crew’s arrival and had been since the incident. He was anaesthetised by the crew as well as given vital fluids and other drugs to help with his blood pressure.
On average, WNAA attend three rescue missions a day, with each mission costing approximately £1,700. They receive no Government funding and rely solely on public donations.
