Eastenders star to visit detection dogs charity

Eastenders actress Gillian Wright, who plays Jean Slater in the BBC soap, will be at the Dogs Day Out fund raising event at Swanbourne House School in The Park on Sunday April 19.

The fun day out, 
which starts at 11am and will end with the final prize giving at 3pm, will provide fun for all the family and raise money for Medical Detection Dogs.

Organisers hope to raise more than £5,000 which would pay for the training of one cancer detection dog.

Medical Detection dogs does vital resaerch into the role that our canine companions can play in detecting life threatening conditions such as diabetes and cancers.

The charity is based in Great Horwood, and has been at the forefront of research 
into to how a dog’s keen sense of smell could revolutionise the medical world.
