PUPILS at Brackley Junior School are set to become EcoKids in an attempt to make Britain’s holidays greener.
The Year 5 pupils are among 3,000 children nationally set to take part in Make Holidays Greener Week.
The scheme is a joint venture between charity The Travel Foundation and The Co-operative Travel.
Branch manager of The Co-operative Travel, Juli Bloor, is set to visit the pupils to ask for their involvement in the plan.
Make Holidays Greener Week hopes to encourage all holidaymakers – and particularly youngsters – to behave responsibly and sustainably during the school summer break.
Each student is being provided with a scrapbook and asked to record their activities during the holidays, along with whether they altered their behaviour in a bid to make their holiday ‘greener’.
A prize for the best scrapbook will be presented at the end of the summer break.
Juli said: “The Greener Holiday scrapbook is a chance for kids to really make a differenceand influence others over their behaviour while on holiday.”
