CHILDREN at Croughton All Saints CE Primary were given a cheque for £300 last week for their enthusiasm towards a gardening project.

On Friday retired physics teacher and school neighbour Alan Perkins accepted a cheque on behalf of the school from Michelle Elliott of the Tap Teacher supply agency. Mr Perkins runs the school Garden Club which came top in a competition run by the agency between 20 schools to find the best gardening project. Mr Perkins also runs a club at Culworth School which came second.

Ms Elliott said it was a pleasure to see the club’s hard work and added: “Everyone took it really seriously which is fantastic.”
