THE Bishop of Brixworth explained the symbolic meaning of his regalia after signing a strategic partnership agreement with Croughton All Saints CE Primary last week.

Bishop John Holbrook was formally ordained by the Archbishop of Canterbury during a ceremony at Westminster Abbey in June.

Headteacher Veneeta Rayner said: “It was a delight to welcome Bishop John along with Archdeacon Christine Allsopp and diocese director of education Dr Stephen Partridge. They signed a partnership agreement along with chair of Governors Gina Thomas which signifies the close working relationship between the school and the diocese.”

The head boy and girl also signed the back of a plaque which will act as a lasting reminder of the agreement.

During their visit the Bishop and Archdeacon told children about their roles and explained the significance of their robes and their colours.
