Rainforest creepy-crawlies amaze Thornton pupils

PUPILS at Thorton College School got to grips with creatures including giant millipedes and tarantulas during a visit from Paul Carpenter of the Life in the Rainforest company.

Mr Carpenter, who has been breeding insects and spiders since the age of five, let children and adults handle some of the unusual invertebrates.

Children also ventured out into the school grounds with soft brushes and magnifying glasses to find their own specimens, which were recorded before being released.
