Speaking after the training session on Tuesday, she said: “The students from Bicester Community College have impressed me today.

“We have been able to demonstrate that triathlon offers an alternative to team sports for people who would still like to take part in a competitive and interesting sport without focusing on only one discipline.”

Organised by On Your Marks Events, the Bicester Triathlon is open to men and women over the age of 15. The event includes a 500m indoor swim, a 20k bike ride, and a 5k run. Visit www.onyourmarksevents.org for more information.
