Entertainment lined up for next weekend's MotoGP at Silverstone
A timetable of off-track entertainment has been lined up for next weekend's AirAsia British Grand Prix.
MotoGP is returning to Silverstone Circuit on June 19 and 20 after a long break and a variety of entertainment has been organised.
Riders for Health, a charity known for its aid work in Africa, will be holding the 2010 Day of Champions at Silverstone on Thursday, June 17. For fans of motorcycle racing it offers access to a MotoGP auction attended by the MotoGP riders.
All of the money raised goes to Riders for Health to help save lives in Africa. For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit www.riders.org.
The circuit will hold live concerts every night of the event at the Arena stage.
On Friday evening Stolen ID will be performing, while on Saturday night there will be on-stage appearances from MotoGP riders along with music from Jamie Whitham's band The Po Boys, The Clicks and Marner Brown.
MotoGP fans attending race-day can see Some Velvet Mornings and The New Machine, a Pink Floyd Tribute band.
The Get On! Experience Zone will provide free motorcycle and scooter rides, along with advice from qualified trainers.
Other activities include the MotoX off-road school provided by Suzuki for children aged 11 years and over, and the Enduro off-road school for experienced adults. Five to 11 year-olds can enjoy Honda's My First Licence sessions.
The England v Algeria World Cup match will be shown on June 18 at 7.30pm on a giant screen inside the circuit.
Spectators will be able to see The Parachute Regiment Freefall Team's The Red Devils, the Blades aerobatic team and a Typhoon air display. The Red Bull Pro Nationals motocross series, Red Bull X-Fighters, trials legend Dougie Lampkin and stunt rider Craig Jones will also be wowing the crowds throughout the weekend.
Silverstone will be implementing a one-way traffic management system on the Dadford Road for inbound traffic only on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the MotoGP.
