A new tea room in Buckingham got off to a busy start when it opened for the first time on Good Friday.

“We had to turn people away,” said Michelle Fricker, owner of Looby Lu’s Tearoom, on West Street. “We had some people come back twice over the weekend. The home-made cakes went down a treat. The one that’s really doing well is lemon cake. And cupcakes have done well with the children. They’re all locally made.”

As well as tea and cakes, sandwiches and salads, the tearoom offers a big selection of breakfast and brunch ideas, including boiled egg and soldiers and granola and yogurt.

Mrs Fricker, aged 46, is currently applying for the licences needed to run champagne tea parties on Sundays.

Find Looby Lu’s Tearoom on Facebook or call 01280 822787.
