THE Centre for Sustainable Energy is offering a free one-day training workshop in Milton Keynes next month for those interested in setting up renewable energy and low-carbon initiatives in their communities.
The workshop on Tuesday, May 8, has been funded by the Department of Energy and Climate Change, and will introduce participants to the ‘PlanLoCaL’ (Planning for Low Carbon Living) suite of interactive tools and information.
Designed to support community low-carbon and renewable energy initiatives, the package also offers help navigating the statutory planning system.
The event is designed for members of community groups, or those working on local planning or sustainable living initiatives.
The Centre for Sustainable Energy, an independent national charity, said the workshop is particularly relevant to people working with local authorities, or in areas such as conservation.
The charity also says the workshop could be useful to some voluntary organisations.
The workshop runs from 9.30am to 4pm, with registration from 9am.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided, and all participants will receive a copy of the PlanLoCaL DVD resource pack to take away with them.
There is no charge for the training day, but the charity says those who book and do not attend will be sent a non-attendance invoice of £120.
