HOUSEHOLD waste recycling centres around Oxfordshire have noticed a creepy Hallowe’en theme in the items brought in recently.

A glass eye, false teeth, a coffin and a tarantula in a cage are among the items discovered at the county’s recycling centres this Hallowe’en season.

Chairman of the Oxfordshire Waste Partnership, Lorraine Lindsay-Gale, said: “People are keen to recycle as much as possible and we get asked what to do with all kinds of rubbish.

“We now recycle more than ever such as electrical items, energy saving light bulbs and batteries, but this always leads to people wanting to do more. As well as these unusual items we’ve also been asked about a 6ft stuffed bear that someone no longer wanted!”
