A POTENTIAL buyer who wants to save one of Brackley’s most popular family destinations hopes a deal can be struck within the next few weeks.

Last weekend the Bumblebees Playhouse, in Oxford Road, closed as the current proprietors stepped away from the business due to ill health in the family. They had feared they would have to sell the indoor adventure play frame to interests outside the town, forcing the permanent closure of the playhouse.

But a Brackley resident, who asked to remain anonymous while negotiations were underway, said he hoped the playhouse would be closed for as short a time as possible.

Speaking to the Advertiser he said he had moved to the town two years ago because he thought it was the best place for his young family, and added: “It may well be closed at the moment, but the plan is to buy it, revamp it, and open as soon as possible. I live in Brackley myself, so I’m coming at this from a father’s point of view. I think it is a fantastic facility which just needs an injection of enthusiasm.”

He believes the playhouse has a wide catchment area and is a viable business.
