Family pays tribute to ‘honest, generous and loving friend’

THE family of a man who died in a collision near Weston-on-the-Green last week has paid tribute to, “an honest, generous and loving friend.”

Richard Hogben, 51, from Witney, died in a collision on the B430 at the junction of Akeman Street, north of Weston-on-the-Green, at around 7.30pm on Tuesday last week.

The family statement paid tribute to a dedicated church-goer, family man and cricketer who worked as a business development director for Witney firm Amadeus.

“Our father was an honest, generous and loving friend who will be greatly missed. His lifestyle and work were governed by his strong Christian faith.

“In this sad and difficult time we take comfort in the knowledge that we will one day meet together in the presence of Jesus,” said the joint statement from children Sarah, 27, Alistair, 26, and Rebecca, 21.

A thanksgiving service will be held in Welcome Evangelical Church in Witney on Tuesday, February 7, starting at 2.30pm.
