People attending a public display over a proposed new housing estate in Verney Road, Winslow, were concerned about the extra traffic it would bring to Vicarage Lane.
The exhibition, on Wednesday in the St Laurence Room, was the second in a row from speculative developers Gladman.
On Tuesday last week, Gladman showed its latest plans for 100 homes on a site it owns off the Little Horwood Road at Shipton where it has been refused planning permission twice before.
Plans on display this week were for an entirely new proposal, which would see a 175-home estate built on land owned by Glebe Farm in Verney Road, opposite Furze Down School.
Many residents at the exhibition expressed concern over increased traffic on Vicarage Lane, turning on to the A313 Buckingham Road.
One Verney Road resident, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: “How are we supposed to get out? We can’t get out of our road now, with the last lot being built.”
Mayor of Winslow Llew Monger expressed fears over “a complete logjam”.
He said: “We’ve already got planning permission for 220 houses at The Glade, about half of which have been built.
“This would be another 175. Inevitably there will be applications for that land between The Glade and the railway line.
“Something significant has got to happen from a Highways point of view, otherwise we will have a complete logjam.”
He added: “The town council have made it clear in the past that they see the area between the current housing estate at The Glade and the railway line as a natural extension that could accommodate a number of houses – provided there was a suitable access on to Buckingham Road.”
Several people questioned the market for more houses off Verney Road, saying homes already built on The Glade estate are not selling.
But Gladman project manager Paul Roberts said the company was optimistic.
He said: “The housing market is still in recovery but from discussions we’re having with housebuilders they’re very keen to acquire sites and start building in the right location.
“We’re still optimistic this is a good location where housebuilders will be keen to press on and build houses on a phased basis over five to six years.”
Frazer Payne, of the Winslow Neighbourhood Plan steering committee said: “I’m not sure how much it answers what I would like to see for future housing needs. It seems like another tightly packed development. I’m not sure we need more of the same.”
Gladman is likely to submit planning applications for both sites in four to five weeks’ time.
