Fine line-up at Brackley Music Festival
Rock, ska, folk, choral, classical and brass band music can all be heard in the 15th Brackley Music Festival, opening on Friday, June 25.
The two-week series of events will see more than 20 morning, afternoon and evening concerts performed in a dozen venues around town.
This year's programme will include the acclaimed Led Zeppelin tribute band Boot Led Zeppelin and the ska group Hope & Glory.
Tony Hunter, owner of Skins motorcycle accessory store in High Street, is helping sell tickets for the Boot Led Zeppelin gig in Brackley Bowls Club on Friday, June 25.
Mr Hunter, who was a huge fan of the original band, said: "I have seen probably about eight Led Zeppelin tribute bands in my time, and I have to say none of them come as close to the originals as Boot Led Zeppelin.
"The lead singer has Robert Plant down to a tee."
The festival will also offer performances by the folk band Scarecrow, the 6PAC jazz sextet with Alice Zawadski, Americana musician Stompin' Dave and Lukas: Czech Serenade.
Local groups will include Brackley and District Music School, the Brackley and District Band, the Brackley Male Voice Choir and the Brackley Chamber Music Group.
Festival organiser Blake Stimpson said: "Over a period of two weeks in the summer, the festival brings together young and old, amateur and professional, with a shared enthusiasm for the joy of live music either as performer or member of the audience. The programme features both local talent and performers from further afield in the UK and internationally.
"As always, our programme this year is varied and talented, traditional and excitingly new, and we will be delighted if you can join us for this 'high summer' of musical pleasure."
The festival will conclude with the Mayor's Last Night of the Proms concert on July 10.
Tickets for all concerts are available from Bliss Fashions or Brackley Town Hall, both in Market Place, Brackley.
Contact staff at Bliss Fashions on 01280 840780 or Brackley Town Hall on 01280 702441 for details. A full programme are available online at www.brackleymusicfestival.co.uk.
