District councillor for Winslow, Sue Renshell, took part in a charity firewalk at Viney House TA Centre in Aylesbury on Friday.
Great Horwood resident Mrs Renshell, who has already raised over £650, said: “It was brilliant! I did it twice and there were over 20 of us walking the walk on behalf of Age UK Bucks.
“It wasn’t painful and we were prepared beforehand by Pete and Emma from Survivorbility who trained us using Neuro Linguistic Programming techniques.
“I even split a plank of wood beforehand with my bare hand as proof that it was mind over matter!
“Having never done this sort of thing before, I’m amazed at everyone’s generosity and kindness in supporting a very important cause – to improve the lives of elderly people across the county with the focus on supporting independence.”
