Flood warnings after heavy rain lashes the region

Four homes in Bath Lane in Buckingham were hit by flooding as heavy rains lashed the Advertiser and Review region today, Wednesday.

River levels were high around Buckingham and Bicester this afternoon, with a flood alert on the River Cherwell between Charwelton and Upper Heyford.

Oxfordshire County Council said it had 300 calls before the mid-afternoon, with some reports of flooding on roads around towns and villages including Banbury, Yarnton and Fritwell.

Flooding was also reported in the village of Tiffield near Towcester, with the main road completely submerged.
