Flowers are stolen from child's grave
A mother from Brackley says she is being denied the right to mourn by thieves who are repeatedly stealing flowers from her daughter's grave.
Mary Jarman of Thomas Crewe Close visits the Halse Road Cemetery on special occasions including Christmas, birthdays and Mothering Sundays to place silk floral arrangements on the grave of her daughter Amanda.
But since Christmas someone has been stealing the arrangements, sometimes within hours of them being placed.
Amanda died 42 years ago aged only three after being diagnosed with spina bifida. Mrs Jarman said: "I'm appalled this is happening, you can't believe someone would do such a thing.
"What really makes me angry is that it has taken away my right to go up there and put flowers on her grave."
Mrs Jarman said at the time Amanda was an only child and is still an important part of her family.
She said: "She is still part of our lives, she may not be here but we never leave her out, whatever the situation we are always thinking about her.
"It is nice to be able to go up there and do something for her and I feel like they have taken that right away."
Mrs Jarman thanked graveyard workers who helped her search the cemetery but believes they are being taken home by the thief.
Luke Ross, chair of Brackley Town Council's direct responsibility committee which manages the cemetery said: "If this is an individual removing these flowers then they should be ashamed, they should show some respect."
The last theft took place between 1pm and 3pm on Friday, June 18
