Free training for carers of people with dementia

PEOPLE who care for someone with dementia are invited to register for a free training day in Buckingham in March entitled Behaviours That Challenge.

A person with dementia may behave in ways that are confusing, irritating or difficult to deal with, and this can leave the person caring for them feeling stressed, irritable or helpless.

The aim of the training, run by the Alzheimer’s Society, is to help carers understand the meaning behind the actions so they find it easier to stay calm and deal effectively with the challenges that arise.

The training will take place from 10am to 3pm at the Best Western Hotel, on Buckingham’s ring road, on Wednesday, March 7.

Lunch and refreshments are provided.

Carers, family members and friends are invited to register for a place. Call 01296 331722 or email aylesbury@alzheimers.org.uk
