THERE was ‘bearly’ room to move at the ever-popular teddy bears’ picnic in Garth Park in Bicester on Wednesday.

The front lawn was packed with families and young children enjoying an afternoon of sunshine and entertainment, which included performances by the Banana Brain Fun Show.

The free event ran from 11am to 3pm.

Jason Slaymaker, of Bicester Youth Council, was one of the volunteers helping on the day.

He said: “The park was full. Everybody was having a good time, and there were lots of activities for young people and families.”

The event also included activities hosted by the Oxforshire Play Association.

Rock climbing and Olympic-style community games hosted by Eco Bicester were among the attractions, as well as circus skills and sumo suits.

Visitors could also find out about Bicester’s new cycle hire scheme.
