GCSE results continue to improve at the Buckingham School

Results at The Buckingham School have improved in many subjects this year at GCSE, with 90 per cent of students achieving five A* to C grades or more.

David Lake achieved 18 A*to C grades, Harry Akerman, Benjamin Burchett, Alfie Bradbury, Abigail Clarke, Chelsea Markwell, Conor Tychowski, Scott Wignall and James Wright achieved 15 A* to C grades.

Silkie Allen achieved 13 A* to C grades.

A school spokesman said: “There is a six-year trend of vastly improving results. The school continues to drive the results of all students in all subjects to the very best and we have seen some fantastic results from many of our students.

“Performing arts, PE, further maths, statistics and physics have shown outstanding results. ”

Headteacher Angela Wells said: “I am really pleased to see all groups of students being able to achieve and prepare themselves for their future careers”.

Abigail Clarke, from Buckingham, was at the school with her proud mum Penny.

Mrs Clarke said: “I’m relieved and glad it’s all over.

“I’m pleased she’s done so well and I’m very proud.”

Abigail, who now hopes for a sixth form place at the Royal Latin or Oak Grove, Milton Keynes, said: “I was really scared. I didn’t really want to open it, I was really nervous.

Alfie Bradbury, from Winslow, will be staying on at the Buckingham School for sixth form.

He said: “This morning I was very nervous. I was just glad I did quite well. I just got off the phone to my mum – she sounded pleased.”
