PEOPLE in south Northants are being offered a chance to get fit while learning an Arctic skill.
Originally popular with Finish cross country skiers in the 1930s, Nordic Walking has become one of the fastest growing exercise activities in the country.
Nordic walking includes hand held poles and helps burn 20-40 per cent more calories while reducing the impact the feet. Next month South Northants Council will hold a leaders course enabling participants to set up their own community exercise group. The course will be held at the SNC office in Towcester on Wednesday, June 8 between 10.30am and 4pm. Formore details contact Colin Hull on 01327 322337.
