Paul Tilbury from Brackley raises 600 for The Willen Hospice

A 40-YEAR-OLD from Brackley took part in a 26 round alternative to the 26 mile marathon on Sunday when he raised more than £600 for The Willen Hospice

To raise the money Paul Tilbury boxed for an incredible 26 three minute rounds with only a 60 second rest between each at the Red Hot World Buffet in Milton Keynes last weekend.

Eye witnesses said Mr Tilbury put every ounce of energy into the feat, even during the final round.

Mr Tilbury said it would not have been possible without the support he received and added: “This is something I have wanted to do for a long time. The training has been hard and I was halted by illness but I was determined to keep going. During the challenge, around the 22nd round, my quad gave a little but I was completely in a zone.”

Julia Rogerson, events manager for the Willen Hospice, said: “This was an amazing feat and such an exciting challenge. Paul is a great supporter of the hospice and we are all really proud of him.”
