Lord Lieutenant of Bucks Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher attended the Age UK day centre at Steeple Claydon Villag Hall last Tuesday morning, to present volunteers from the charity’s two day centres at Steeple Claydon and Wing with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

The Queen’s Award is the MBE for the voluntary sector, the highest award given to volunteer groups for outstanding work in the community.

Chief executive of Age UK Bucks, Giulia Johnson, said: “We are very proud that our dedicated day centre volunteers from Wing and Steeple Claydon have been recognised for the outstanding contribution they make to the lives of vulnerable older people.

“These very special centres deal with people who have complex care needs and I have huge admiration for everyone who volunteers there”.
