BICESTER Local History Society is asking for help in identifying this group of mechanics photographed enjoying a tea break at a local garage in the 1950s or ‘60s.
The society has published the photograph in the latest edition of its newsletter in a bid to identify the location and individuals pictured.
Pete Chivers, secretary of the history society, said: “I believe they were at Booth and Phipps Garage in Buckingham Road, but I don’t know the date, so that would be very interesting
“I’ve had someone who’s been able to identify all but one of them, but if two people could verify it that would be even better.”
Bicester Local History Society has been working for some years to compile a record of the unwritten history of Bicester and the surrounding villages.
The society holds regular sessions to record the memories of older residents.
Anyone with information can contact Mr Chivers on 01869 600109.
