There will be room at the Inn this Christmas for over 55s in Brackley facing the festive season on their own.

Between Boxing Day and Wednesday, January 4, Diana House in Manor Road, will throw open its doors to anyone on their own, and if they have space visitors will be given a bed.

Last Friday Friends of Diana House, staff and residents launched their Companionship at Christmas Campaign during and tea morning and lunch.

House manager Diane Williams said: “Elderly people are quite vulnerable when it comes to Christmas because they don’t want to put their family out, but they don’t want to be on their own. And with the weather it can be hard for them even just to get out for their shopping.

“So it is nice to be able to help take away some of the worry, and give them a relaxing Christmas.”
