An audience of almost 300 people enjoyed Buckingham Choral Society’s performance of Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Yeomen of the Guard held in Buckingham Parish Church on Saturday.
The concert was conducted by Julian Mann, the society’s music director, while John Bercow MP was the guest narrator .
The male choir members looked very much the part dressed as Yeomen of the Guard together with the ladies wearing Tudor-style headdresses. The 12 soloists, including six members of the society, were also in historical clothing and combined first class singing with acting.
Members of the highly-acclaimed Orchestra of Stowe Opera led by Gillian Secret also played exceptionally well throughout the evening.
