COMMUNITY groups have been ferried far and wide during the first year of a minibus service provided by the South Northants Volunteer Bureau.

Over the last 12 months the service has transported 536 members of 34 registered groups, over 4,000 miles to nearly 40 destinations.

Nick King of SNVB’s Village Network initiative said: “And we’re really going places.

“In fact, we have driven to 39 destinations as wide-ranging as the NEC, Sixfields, Stowe Gardens, Coalville Rugby Club, Highgrove House, Banbury SKIDZ, Kelmarsh Hall, Milton Keynes Theatre, Birmingham Rep Theatre, Cirencester Museum and Waterperry Gardens.

“The only question is, where would your group like to go?”

The minibus is available to not for profit groups such as voluntary and community groups, schools and statutory bodies. For more information on hiring the minibus and driver visit the SNVB website at www.snvb.org.uk, phone them on 01327 358264, or email villagenetworks@snvb.org.uk.

SNVB is the voluntary and community sector support agency for the district offering support to groups on a wide variety of issues including volunteering, recruitment, fund raising, governance, ICT development, and workforce development.
