Joggers put their best feet forward

ALMOST 6,500 runners including Katie Price and a smattering of famous faces finished last weekend’s Silverstone half marathon, raising thousands of pounds for charities.

The race, which attracted entrants from up and down the country, again saw huge numbers of people lace up their running shoes for good causes, while others wanrmed up for the London Marathon.

In all 6,353 people finished the 13-mile run around the world famous Northamptonshire racetrack.

The winner of the men’s race was Andi Jones in 1hr 8mins 27secs while Kirsty Gallagher triumphed in the women’s race in a time of 1hr 23mins and 20mins. Twenty-seven wheelchair competitors also started the race, with Simon Lawson winning the men’s race and Nikki Emerson the women’s.

Miss Price, aka Jordan, completed the race in 2hr 59mins 54secs, while Kaiser Chiefs singer Ricky Wilson finished in 1hr 35mins.

“I think that it’s all about the taking part, not about the place you finsih in, and especially raising money for the charity of choice” said the former glamour model and reality TV star.
