Jumping for inclusive sport

Instead of volunteering this summer, a masters student from Towcester is preparing to throw herself out of an aeroplane.

On Sunday, July 28, Beth Hughes will also celebrate her 21st birthday as she takes part in the tandem parachute jump at Hinton Skydiving School, raising money for the Disability Inclusive Sports Club (DISC).

Last summer Beth volunteered at the Riverside Day Centre for disabled adults in Towcester. She added: “By volunteering at Riverside I saw first hand how the disabled community often have difficulty accessing certain opportunities. DISC is the perfect cause as it provides sporting opportunities for children and adults with special needs and their families.”
