A car was stolen from a home in a ‘vamoose’ burglary in Stoke Lyne last month.
Between around 10.50pm and 11.30pm on September 26, offenders gained entry to a property on School Lane, and stole keys to a red Ford Focus Titanium.
They then drove off in the vehicle.
At 11.36pm, the car collided with an ANPR camera. It was later found just after midnight on fire on the eastern bypass A4142 at Risinghurst, Oxford.
Investigating officer, Det Con Ian Bailey from Banbury police station, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have heard or seen suspicious behaviour in the area at this time, or seen this vehicle driving erratically to please get in contact via the Thames Valley Police 24-hour enquiry line 101.”
People can also call Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
A vamoose burglary is where thieves burgle a property specifically to steal the keys of a high value or new vehicle.
