An illusionist who works all over the world is setting up a School of Magic in his home town.

Ollie Collins, who grew up on Buckingham’s Badgers estate and attended The Buckingham School, has been working away from home as an entertainer since the aged of 18.

Now aged 30, Ollie has settled back in Buckingham with his partner Clare McGrath and son Joshua, aged two.

While he still travels widely with his work, he’s hit on a new idea to pass on his magic skills to a younger generation.

Ollie is setting up his School of Magic for children aged six to 11 at Buckingham Youth Centre. The six-week course will take place from 6pm to 7pm on Wednesdays, fromNovember 5.

Ollie told the Advertiser: “Magic has always been extremely popular and never more so than today, with the likes of Dynamo, David Blaine and Penn and Teller performing on our televisions.

“The School of Magic is being created to teach children the essential skills to become a real magician.

“We’re going to teach them some amazing tricks, and they can buy packs of tricks afterwards so they can go and perform them for their family and friends. And on the last week, we want to try and put a performance on for family and friends.”

The six-week course will cost £36 per child and children must be accompanied by a parent.
