16-year-old taken to hospital following accident in Bourton Road
A 16-YEAR-OLD girl has been ferried to hospital via air ambulance following a collision involving a bin lorry in Buckingham this week.
Just after 1pm on Wednesday, July 1, the emergency services were called to Bourton Road between Badgers Way and the Buckingham Cricket Club ground.
The Buckingham fire crew were quickly on the scene as the accident happened just a few hundred yards from their base in Bourton Road
A fire service spokesman said the accident involved a lorry and a pedestrian.
The road was closed between the Ring Road roundabout and the cricket ground while crash investigators surveyed the scene.
The girl was taken to hospital by the Chiltern and Thames Valley Air Ambulance which is not funded by the Government and 86 per cent of its funding comes through the service’s lottery. To register for the lottery visit www.tvacaa.org.
