17th century barn fire in Wappenham

WAPPENHAM: Fire fighters were called to a blaze in a 17th century barn in Wappenham on Valentine’s Day.

At around 11.20am on Tuesday, February 14, fire crews from Brackley, Towcester, Buckingham and Northampton were called to Pyrford House in School Lane.

A spokesman for the fire service said it was a two storey barn made from Northampton stone and added: “The building was used to store fire wood and various electrical appliances . The cause of the fire is believed to be hot ash placed in a bin.”
